Summary
Fall of Shiganshina and the breach of Wall Maria: Titans break the Wall, millions displaced and civilian deaths; introduction of the Titan threat and the need to drive them out. Battle of Trost District and the enlistment of recruits: demonstration of the effectiveness of the Three-Dimensional Maneuver Gear and the establishment of the military divisions (Garrison Regiment, Military Police Brigade and Survey Corps). Expeditions outside the Walls and the emergence of the Female Titan: expeditions reveal dangers beyond the Walls; the Female Titan is identified as a conscious threat capable of crystallizing and evading capture. Return to Shiganshina and the basement revelations: the Survey Corps retakes the district, finds the basement that reveals the history of the Titans, the origin of Paradis Island and the existence of an outside world with nations such as Marley. Exposure of the outside world and the secrets of Marley: discoveries about technology, Marley's imperialism and the fact that the inhabitants of Paradis are Eldians regarded as enemies outside the Walls. Marley's offensive and the battle in Liberio: Marley attacks Paradis and an invasion led by Marley's Warriors takes place; Paradis responds with internal and external operations. Infiltration of Marley and the attack on Liberio's capital: an operation by Eren and allies inside enemy territory escalates the conflict and provokes international retaliation. Escalation to total war between Paradis and the world powers: confrontations, alliances and ideological clashes increase as both sides suffer significant losses. Revelation of the Rumbling plan and Eren's transformation: Eren adopts a radical stance, activates the march of the Walls (the Rumbling) with the goal of annihilating external threats and protecting Paradis by genocidal means. Formation of an alliance against Eren: former enemies and former allies unite to stop the mass genocide caused by the Rumbling; they penetrate the mental/conscious space of the Founding Titan. Final battle and Eren's death: Mikasa kills Eren, the Rumbling is stopped and the power of the Titans disappears, reverting Titan transformations. Epilogue and consequences: a devastated world with millions dead; Paradis survives but faces isolation and tensions; diplomatic efforts and reconstruction attempt to prevent a new cycle of violence, while memories and narratives about the Titans span generations.
